Possible Employment Responsibilities: Operating computers , preparing programs for business use, identifying and correcting errors in programs, installing and using various software packages.
Possible Employment Positions: Various entry-level positions including Computer Clerk, Computer Operator, Computer Support Specialist, Technical and Applications Support Specialist
Program Duration: One year. Additional Prerequisite course(s) may be required depending on student’s prior training and education.
Prerequisites: ENGL 0315 , MATH 0401 , and /or interview with the CIS / Business Coordinator.
- Students with computer and / or business skills or background may start the classes in the program before completing the Prerequisites with the permission of the CIS / Business Coordinator.
- Students who lack proficiency in sign communication may be required to enroll in SGNL 1301 , SGNL 1302 , or SGNL 2301 until proficiency is attained.
- Students lacking proficiency in keyboarding may be required to enroll in POFT 1227 .

Total Hours in Level I Certificate: 35
1 All students are encouraged to complete this course during the first semester of enrollment. All first time in college students that take one or more college preparatory courses will be required to take Learning Framework the first long semester they are enrolled. Transfer students with proven success in college-level course work who do not wish to take Learning Framework may enroll in a Physical Education course with approval from an advisor. Students placed on Scholastic Probation will be required to enroll in Learning Framework the next semester of enrollment (if they have not already successfully completed the course). 2 Capstone course. ITSC 2286 is offered during summer, fall or spring semesters depending on current student’s schedule. 3 Elective must be a 3-credit hour CIS or Speech. The suggested courses are ITNW 1325 , IMED 2309 , COSC 1315 , COSC 1336 , ITSE 1302 , ITSE 2309 , and SPCH 1315 . Students are encouraged to consult the CIS/Business Coordinator since some students’ goals vary. |
