Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Specialization Level 1 Certificate

Pursuant to TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement) academy applicants are required to be 21 years of age or have completed 60 college hours if under 21 years of age upon entry into an academy. In addition, a background check is required before registering for the TPO courses-academy. Howard College has a partnership with Concho Valley Council of Government (CVCOG) Law Enforcement Academy and the San Angelo Police Academy to provide instruction of the TOP courses. CVCOG Law Enforcement Academy and the San Angelo Police Academy also provides the eligibility endorsement for the student to sit for the state licensing exam administered by TCOLE to become a Texas Peace Officer. The student shall meet all entry requirements as determined by the TCOLE, CVCOG Law Enforcement Academy and the San Angelo Police Academy as well as comply with academy standards while attending.
