Cosmetology Instructor, Certificate Level I

The Cosmetology Instructor Program is 750 clock hours in length as prescribed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and the State Legislature. Prerequisite: Current Texas Cosmetology License. To complete an Associate of Applied Science Degree, a student must complete the second year requirements listed previously in addition to the requirements for a specialization. NOTE: A criminal background clearance may be required before acceptance into any cosmetology program.

First Semester

CSME 1435 - Orientation to the Instruction of Cosmetology 4 semester hours
CSME 1434 - Cosmetology Instructor I 4 semester hours
CSME 2414 - Cosmetology Instructor II 4 semester hours

Second Semester

CSME 2449 - Cosmetology Instructor III 4 semester hours
CSME 2444 - Cosmetology Instructor IV 4 semester hours ¹
CSME 2445 - Instructional Theory and Clinic Operation 4 semester hours

Total: 12 (Clock Hours: 416)

Total Hours in Specialization: 24 (Clock Hours: 800)
