The Pharmacy Technician Certificate Level I program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in a variety of pharmacy practice settings, including community, hospital, and institutional pharmacies. This program provides foundational instruction in pharmaceutical principles, medication preparation, and pharmacy operations, emphasizing accuracy, safety, and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Students will engage in both classroom instruction and hands-on experiences to develop the competencies required for professional practice. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to apply for and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Successful completion of the PTCE leads to the nationally recognized Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential.
