Aviation Maintenance, Associate of Applied Science

Upon completion of the associate degree, students will be able to:
- Prepare to take the FAA examination for the Airframe and Powerplant licenses.
- Demonstrate knowledge of aviation electrical systems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of aviation science.
- Demonstrate the necessary skills for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing auxiliary electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems for various aircraft.
- Demonstrate the necessary skills for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various reciprocal and turbine engines, including all support systems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of aviation airframe and powerplant FAA inspection methods.
This degree can be completed through a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes. The program is designed to take two years or four semesters and consists of the following courses.
Progression to the next term in the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program is contingent upon successful completion of all courses in the current term. Students must earn a minimum grade of “C” (defined as 70% or higher) in each course to pass and continue in the program.
