Academic Progress and Grading

To ensure students’ academic success and readiness for the radiologic technology profession, the following policies will apply to all students enrolled in the program:

  1. Minimum Grade Requirement
A letter grade of “C” (75) or better must be earned in all RADR courses for students to progress from one semester to the next. This is a requirement for continued enrollment in the Radiologic Technology Program.
  2. Support for Academic Progress
Students who are not satisfied with their progress in the program are encouraged to utilize office hours as posted by their instructors. During these hours, students can meet with instructors to discuss their performance and develop a success plan. Taking advantage of this support is highly encouraged to address any academic concerns early and work towards improvement.
  3. Failure to Meet Grading Standards
In accordance with the program’s grading policy, students who fail to earn a grade of 75 or higher in any RADR course will be considered to have failed that course and the program. Students who fail a RADR course will have the option to reapply for the next cycle of the program; however, they will be considered as new applicants. Reapplying requires adherence to the current curriculum and application process. If accepted into the next cohort, the student will be required to meet with the Program Chair to develop a success plan.  The student will be required to retake any failed courses plus demonstrate competency and knowledge in previously passed RADR courses. To avoid retaking any courses, students must earn a grade of 75 or higher on examinations of these courses.
  4. Time Limit for Program Completion
Students must complete all requirements of the Radiologic Technology Program within three years from the date of initial acceptance into the program.
  5. Program Attempt Limit
Students may attempt the program no more than twice. If a student fails a RADR course or withdraws from the program after two attempts, they will be ineligible to continue in the program.

These policies are in place to ensure that students are adequately prepared for the demands of the radiologic technology profession and that they maintain the academic standards necessary for success in the field.
