To complete an Associate of Applied Science Degree, a student must complete the Cosmetology Level I Certificate plus the second year requirements. NOTE: A criminal background clearance may be required before acceptance into any cosmetology program.

Social/Behavioral Science Elective - Choose from core curriculum 3 semester hours
Humanities/Fine Arts Elective - Choose from core curriculum 3 semester hours
ITSC 1309 - Integrated Software Applications I 3 semester hours ¹ or
BCIS/COSC Elective - Computer Science Elective 3 semester hours

Second Year

Second Semester

Speech Elective - Choose from Core Curriculum 3 semester hours
Natural Sciences/Math Elective - Choose from core curriculum 3-4 semester hours
BUSI 1301 - Business Principles 3 semester hours or
BUSG 2309 - Small Business Management / Entrepreneurship 3 semester hours or
BMGT 1327 - Principles of Management 3 semester hours
HRPO 1311 - Human Relations 3 semester hours

¹ CAPSTONE EXPERIENCE: Each student must complete the required hours and have the Director of the Cosmetology Program submit paperwork to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) for test date.
